Charlene Peruchi

Hi, I'm Charlene!

I am a children’s book illustrator and author. I currently live in Berlin, Germany.

I was born and raised in Brazil, but life then offered me the opportunity to move to Germany. This has allowed me to learn a new language, get to know different cultures, visit many cities, and finally, I understood that only art can bring me a little happiness in this weird world.

During my childhood, I had a lot of contact with nature, animals, and stories that my grandparents told me. They were stories of ghosts, folklore creatures, and adventure. Maybe that’s why I enjoy learning about the folklore of other cultures and fictional stories so much.

I believe that by listening to these stories, my love for storytelling was born. And today, I want to create my own stories and illustrate them, the ones I would like to read when I was a little kid. I little kid who was growing up without other children, and to sensible and anxious about what was happening around.

I love color and light, textures, traditional art, and stories. My illustrations are currently digital, but with a traditional touch. I like to draw animals, nature, and anthropomorphic characters. I like fiction stories and educational books.

Thank you for stopping by.

Charlene 🙂
